Analysis Date will also show date time stamp.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">The various functions and options are explained in the following sections.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"toc_anchors\" id=\"Building_Model_Check\"><span class=\"colour\">Building Model Check<br \/><\/span><\/h2>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Before making the building analysis you can use the <\/span><\/span><i><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">&quot;Building Model Check&quot;<\/span><\/span><\/i><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> button to make a final model check on the model you have created.&nbsp; The main reason is the results should be verified to be correct and reasonable before performing design, i.e. if analysis results are in doubt, the design will also be wrong.&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Further, the batch design this way does not show any details of which member is passing or failing.&nbsp; For bigger models, the design process will likely be long, in which case it,&nbsp; will be much for flexible and effective to design members by batches via the separate member design dialog via the <b>Design<\/b> tab.&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"toc_anchors\" id=\"Perform_Eigenvalue_Analysis\"><span class=\"colour\">Perform Eigenvalue Analysis<br \/><\/span><\/h2>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">An <\/span><\/span><i><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">\u201cEigenvalue Analysis\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/i><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> can be performed as part of the Building Analysis in order to calculate natural frequencies and mode shapes, (which will be dependent on storey mass and model stiffness). No loading is used in the analysis. The Eigenvalue Analysis results can be of value if wind tunnel tests are required.<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">If a seismic code is selected,&nbsp; the <\/span><b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Eigenvalue Analysis<\/span><\/b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> will automatically be performed, as the natural frequencies &amp; mode shapes are integral to seismic analysis &amp; design. Hence this option will be hidden.&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">After analysis is completed, go to Reports tab &gt; click<\/span><b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> Eigenvalue Results<\/span><\/b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> to generate the report.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"toc_anchors\" id=\"Controlling_the_Storey_Mass_for_Eigenvalue_Analysis\"><span class=\"colour\">Controlling the Storey Mass for Eigenvalue Analysis<br \/><\/span><\/h3>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">If a seismic code <\/span><u><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">not selected<\/span><\/u><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">, the storey mass for Eigenvalue analysis is always based on the dead load G only (exclude any live load, Q).&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">If seismic code<\/span><u><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> is selected<\/span><\/u><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">, the storey mass for Eigenvalue analysis is always based on the dead load G&nbsp;plus a fraction of the live load Q, i.e. :&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: square\"><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Storey weight =&nbsp;<\/span><b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">G+nQ <\/span><\/b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">:&nbsp; &nbsp;where &quot;n&quot; is generally know as&nbsp;participation factor or simultaneous presence factor.&nbsp; <br \/><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: square\"><span class=\"colour\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">This factor is set for each storey under <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.protasoftware.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/storey-related-controls-and-settings#Remove_Storey:~:text=be%20decreased%20accordingly.-,Edit%20Storey,-Use%20the%20%22Edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Edit Storey<\/span><\/a><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\"> menu under column &quot;<\/span><b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Simultaneous Presence<\/span><\/b><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">&quot; &#8211; whose field is only visible when a seismic code is selected. For columns and walls this could involve making global stiffness adjustments to model cracked section properties. The ACI code may be referred to for some guidance in this regard.  These adjustments can be made via the <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.protasoftware.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/model-options#Model:~:text=Model%E2%80%9D%20tab.-,Material%20and%20Section%20Effective%20Stiffness%20Factors%C2%A0,-%E2%80%9CElasticity%C2%A0Modulus%E2%80%9D%2C%20%22Axial\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">Material and Section Effective Stiffness Factor<\/span><\/a><i><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><span class=\"size\" style=\"font-size: 16px\">table&nbsp;in Building Analysis form.<\/span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"toc_anchors\"
