                  Codes<\/span>

                  1. Codes are automatically selected based on the country specific template that must be chosen when new project is created.<\/span><\/li>\n
                  2. Although codes can be manually changed, we strongly advised against mixing of code of practice of different country, example using British loading code but choosing to design using EuroCode, to prevent unexpected outcome such as unconservative design. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Nationally Determined Parameters (NDPs)
                    <\/h1>\n
                    When Eurocodes are adopted in project, Nationally Determined Parameters Editor will appear in Design Settings Center. This allows users to seamlessly customize Eurocode parameters to align with their national standards.<\/div>\n
                    <\/div>\n
                    <\/div>\n
                    This brand-new NDP editor provides a handy search and filter functionality where you can narrow down the parameters according to material, designed element or any related keyword. By default, the NDP editor is grouped under supported code categories such as Eurocode 2, Eurocode 3, Eurocode 4 and Eurocode 8.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                    Lateral Loading<\/span>
                    <\/span><\/h1>\n
                    This page controls the Lateral loading<\/span><\/span><\/span> settings in the project such as the notional load. <\/span><\/span><\/span>This page will differ depending on which loading code is chosen (example shown below is for EuroCode)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
                    <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

                      \n
                    1. If you check the <\/span>\u201cApply Notional Loads at Storey Levels\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/i> option, then the notional loads will be calculated and applied by the program automatically : <\/span><\/span>
                      <\/span><\/li>\n
                        \n
                      1. Lateral Load Factor :  This factor will be multiplied by the mass of each storey to evaluate the notional load at each storey.<\/span><\/span><\/font>
                        <\/span><\/li>\n
                      2. The notional load will be applied as point load at the centre of gravity of each separate diaphragm and \/ or each free node proportional to their masses at the same storey level.<\/span><\/span>
                        <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                      3. Lateral Load Angle : Enter value other than zero if you want to specify a loading direction other than the global X and Y directions.  Angles are measure global horizontal, anti-clockwise as shown below.<\/span><\/li>\n

                        Number of Contributing Members (Eurocode 2 only)<\/span><\/b><\/u>
                        <\/span><\/div>\n
                        In Cl 5.2(5) the calculation of the reduction factor <\/span>\u03b1m<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>depends on the number of contributing members, <\/span>m<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/div>\n
                        Valid input for <\/span>m<\/span><\/i> in directions 1 and 2 is any whole number from 1 to 1000. The default value is 1 which results in <\/span>\u03b1m<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> = 1.000. If a value of 1000 is entered then a<\/span>m<\/span><\/span> would reduce to 0.707.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n
                      6. No of Modes to be Calculated<\/span><\/b> : If Eigenvalue analysis is chosen, <\/span><\/span><\/font>sets the maximum number of mode shapes that will be calculated.  For more details, please refer section "Perform Eigenvalue Analysis" in this article<\/span>: <\/span>Analysis<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                        Lateral Drift & Bracing<\/span>

                        1. Dir-1\/Dir-2<\/span><\/u> :<\/span><\/b> Direction is based on global direction. Dir-1 indicates x-axis ; Dir-2 indicates y-axis.<\/span>

                        2. User can manually change the bracing condition for an individual column or wall on the <\/span><\/span>\u201cSlenderness\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b> page located in the<\/span> Interactive <\/a><\/span>Column Design<\/a> <\/b>dialog. <\/li>\n
                        3. Sway Amplification Factor (Eurocode)<\/span><\/u> :<\/span><\/b> After analysis, if the structure is found to be sway sensitive, the calculated amplification factors are also displayed on this page. A <\/span>\u201cUser-Defined\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b> checkbox is provided to enable you to over-ride the calculated values based on your engineering judgement.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
