Hence for beams, 3 axes are needed to create the 2 insertion points.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"colour\">To define a new <\/span><b><span class=\"colour\">Reinforced Concrete Beam<\/span><\/b><span class=\"colour\"> member:<br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal\"><span class=\"colour\">Display the storey level in the drawing area which will contain the beam.&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal\"><span class=\"colour\">Click the <\/span><b><span class=\"colour\">Beam Icon<\/span><\/b><span class=\"colour\"> from the reinforced concrete category under the&nbsp;<\/span><b><span class=\"colour\">Modelling<\/span><\/b><span class=\"colour\">&nbsp;ribbon<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal\">Pick the<b>&nbsp;<span class=\"colour\">Beam Type<\/span><\/b> as stated in the above section<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal\"><span class=\"colour\">Edit the fields in the <\/span><b><span class=\"colour\">Beam Properties<\/span><\/b><span class=\"colour\">&nbsp;box. For example, users can edit the label of their beams in the <\/span><b><span class=\"colour\">Label<\/span><\/b><span class=\"colour\">&nbsp;field (max. 11 characters), modify the section dimensions and its eccentricities.&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal\"><span class=\"colour\">To insert the beam, locate the insertion points in the plan view drawing area, or the 3D view. Click on two axes intersection points to insert the beam.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>\n<h1 class=\"toc_anchors\" id=\"Defining_a_New_Beam_without_Reference_Axis\"><span class=\"colour\">Defining a New Beam without Reference Axis<br \/><\/span><\/h1>\n<div><span class=\"colour\">A new beam can also be defined without necessity of predefining the main reference axes that should run along the beam. However, true potential end points or the axes that will potentially generate end points, must be defined first. If it is intended to define a beam by traditional method over an already existing axis, you must be sure to snap to the real intersection point. Program may draw the beam but not on the axis intended.
