A column can only be inserted at the intersection of 2 axes which forms a node or joint.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n


\n <\/span><\/p>\n

When a column is inserted, the top and bottom of the column will use the same node.<\/span>  <\/span><\/span>To model a slanting or inclined column, an additional node (intersection of axes) must be available. <\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n


\n <\/span><\/p>\n

We will use a simple table top model to demonstrate this.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For this model, we would like to slant the column 2C1.<\/span>  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Create any new axis to create additional axes intersection<\/span>  <\/span><\/span>(which will be the new insertion point for the bottom of the column)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. \u200b<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Select <\/span><\/b>Column > <\/span>Right-click<\/span><\/b> > <\/span>Properties<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Labels of the reference axes will be displayed in \u201c<\/span>Top<\/span><\/i>\u201d and \u201c<\/span>Bottom<\/span><\/i>\u201d fields.  By default, both will have the same axes \u2013 hence the column is vertical. To slant \/ incline the column, the \u201c<\/span>Top<\/span><\/i>\u201d or \u201c<\/span>Bottom<\/span><\/i>\u201d reference axis must be changed. <\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Select the column and right click "<\/span>Properties".<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Click the icon <\/span>, then click the intersection of the axis that the bottom of the column will be placed.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Press \u201c<\/span>Update<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u201d button<\/span>  > Check the 3D view to see if column inclination is done as desired.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Bot Insertion Point<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

      \u201c<\/span>Bot Insertion Point<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u201d button is to change the bottom insertion point of the column\/wall (next to ‘Bottom’ axes fields)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      For this purpose, pick the appropriate axis intersection on plan or 3D window after you clicked on the \u201c<\/span>Bot Insertion Point<\/b>\u201d<\/span><\/i> button.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
