"<\/span><\/span>Slab Load<\/span><\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Properties<\/span><\/span><\/i>" will be loaded when the "<\/span><\/span>Slab Load<\/span><\/span><\/i>" option in the "<\/span><\/span>Concrete<\/span><\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>Member <\/span><\/span><\/i>" pulldown (or toolbar) is selected. A new slab load can be defined by arranging the fields in the properties form and then by clicking the insertion reference.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The following fields exist in this properties form:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Load Type

Depending on the selected load type, necessary definition parameters will be set visible in the properties form.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Load Type Buttons are available in the upper pane of the properties form to enable the definition of Point Loads, Line Loads and Partial Area Loads.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Slab Load Dimensions (b1, b2)
<\/h2>\n

Horizontal ("<\/span><\/span>b1 <\/span><\/span><\/i>") and vertical ("<\/span><\/span>b2 <\/span><\/span><\/i>") dimensions of the slab load can be defined in these fields.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Point Load:<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/span><\/span>These fields will not be available when point load is selected.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Line Load:<\/span><\/span><\/b> "<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>b1<\/span><\/span><\/b>" will be the length of line load.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Area Load: <\/span><\/span><\/b>"<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>b1<\/span><\/span><\/b>" will be the horizontal length and "<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>b2<\/span><\/span><\/b>" will be the vertical dimensions of the area load.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Slab Loading Parameters<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>
    <\/h1>\n

    Slab Load Reference Distances (e1, e2)<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/h1>\n

    Slab loads are inserted based on an axis intersection as reference point. The horizontal distance ("<\/span><\/span>e1 <\/span><\/span><\/i>") and vertical distance ("<\/span><\/span>e2 <\/span><\/span><\/i>") to the lower left corner of the slab load can be defined in these fields. The definition is similar to the definition of \u201ce1\u201d and \u201ce2\u201d in the slab opening section.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/p>\n

    Load Angle<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/h2>\n

    The "<\/span><\/span>Angle<\/span><\/span><\/i>" field allows you to define rotated slab loads. This is the direction angle of the bottom edge of the area load or direction of the line load measured from global x-axis.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/p>\n

    This field will not be available for point loads.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

    Load Case<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/h2>\n

    For every vertical load case (\u201c<\/span><\/span>G <\/span><\/span><\/i>\u201d and \u201c<\/span><\/span>Q<\/span><\/span><\/i>\u201d) a set of load magnitudes can be defined. You can switch load cases using the "<\/span><\/span>Next\/Previous Load Case <\/span><\/span><\/i>" buttons.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

    Magnitude of the loads can be defined using the fields provided at the bottom of the properties form.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    Inserting a New Slab Load<\/span><\/h1>\n

    To define a new Slab Load:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Press the \u201c<\/span><\/span>Slab Load<\/span><\/span><\/i>\u201d button located in the toolbar.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Select the Load Type by pressing one of the Load Type Buttons located in the top pane of the properties form.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Enter the loading dimensions ("<\/span><\/span>b1 <\/span><\/span><\/i>" and "<\/span><\/span>b2 <\/span><\/span><\/i>") and load position angle ("<\/span><\/span>Angle <\/span><\/span><\/i>", not applicable for point loads) in the "<\/span><\/span>Slab Load Properties<\/span><\/span><\/i>" form. Some of these parameters will be invisible depending on the load type selected.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    4. The distances to the reference point ("<\/span><\/span>e1 <\/span><\/span><\/i>" and "<\/span><\/span>e2 <\/span><\/span><\/i>") can be defined on the plan or 3D views by picking the reference and insertion points. Instead of picking the insertion point, the relative coordinates of the insertion point can be defined using the \u201cF2\u201d key. <\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Enter the load magnitudes for each vertical load case that the load will be applied. You can switch load cases using the "<\/span><\/span>Next\/Previous Load Case<\/span><\/span><\/i>" buttons.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    6. Click the axis intersection which is going to be used as the reference point of the slab hole. Alternatively a direction angle can be defined by clicking an axis intersection and dragging to a second axis intersection point along one of the axes.

      Editing an Existing Slab Load<\/span>
      <\/h1>\n

      In order to edit an existing Slab Load:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Select an existing slab load.<\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Modify the fields such as load dimensions or magnitudes in the "Slab Load Properties " form.<\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Press the "Update " button in the form.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        You can repeat this process to as many members as you wish. One loading at a time can be edited by this method.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
