On Dec 26 I dropped my D800 onto the carpet from merely 2 feet. I thought nothing of it, but realized soon afterwards that my 24-70mm was damaged enough that I can't use it anymore. Tonight I noticed that the body was not focusing correctly when not used in live view. The fact that $5000 worth of photo gear was damaged by a mere two foot drop onto carpet is extremely disappointing for me. I won't be taking many photos with this camera until it's fixed, and I don't know when that will be.
