This is near the top of Russian Hill, a few blocks from my house. Tien and I walk up here sometimes to get a little workout, but I never bring my camera along at those times. Tonight we decided to walk up just to take this photo. I did it in HDR with Photomatix 4, but it looked lower quality than this and I didn't like it as much. More and more I think HDR is unnecessary in most circumstances, and other than the bright lights of Broadway here, that is certainly the case with this shot.
This is not HDR. This photo is a single exposure developed entirely in LR3.
